The need for a consistent and high quality supply of water is a critical element in the production high tech products. Indeed the presence of certain parameters at the aqueduct may cause major difficulties as well as major costs when water is produced for industrial purposes.
This is a process that requires water of a superior quality.
This is why the TOC is measured continuously by a TOC meter for the requirements of the IBM plant. A value that is lower than 3,0 mg/L is required by the company and can be controlled by appropriate treatment. Conductivity is analysed once a day, or as required by IBM or GE in particular. IBM requires a value that is lower than 300uS/cm, They must be advised immediately if this value is exceeded. The chlorine level is also monitored for GE. They require a value that is lower than 50 mg/L, and must be advised if the level is exceeded.
